I wrote this independent review on electric pressure washers to help you decide if one is right for you – and help you choose the best model for your own cleaning needs. Electric pressure washers have lots of uses. And there are lots of options to consider.
And you can check out my #1 top electric pressure washer pick: the incredible AR Blue Clean power washer on Amazon.
Electric pressure washers are quieter, don’t use gas and don’t produce fumes so they’re easier on the environment than gas units. They use 80% less water than a garden hose. And since they're light – usually less than 30 lbs - they’re easy to carry around. These are very good reasons why they're are a top choice for many homeowners.
Also, one of the great advantages of electric models over
gas models is that you can use electric washers indoors! If
you think you’d ever want to power wash your garage, basement, warehouse, shed
or other enclosed areas, you’ll definitely want one.
But I have to say
that I’d encourage you to consider a gas unit, instead, if you need to do paint
stripping, remove graffiti or plan on using your washer several times a week.
In these instances, you’d get a better value, over the long run, by investing
in a more expensive gas pressure washer.
Ok, you know you want an electric pressure washer – so follow these pro tips to choose wisely:
You need to know about the two standard pressure washer ratings you can use to accurately compare
models. So you can compare apples to apples. The first rating is PSI (Pounds
per Square Inch). PSI is the rating of the force & power in the water, that
the pump is able to produce. The second rating is GPM (Gallons per Minute). GPM
indicates how fast the water flows through the unit. Basically, the higher the
PSI and GPM, the more cleaning power you’ll have. And you’ll be able to clean
faster with units that have higher PSI and GPM ratings.
Secondly, I wanted you to know that the more economical electric
pressures on the market, usually have wobble pumps. Wobble pumps are not designed to be fixed or replaced if
they wear out or break. If you have a wobble pump problem, you have to buy an
entirely new unit. But, if you invest in one
that has a axial cam or triplex pump, you can repair or replace the pump it if you run
into problems. It’s your choice, of course, but I wanted you to be aware of the
pumps choices as you shop around.
LAST IMPORTANT TIP: Here's what they generally won't tell you: many manufacturers, including Karcher, do not honor their own warranty if you buy on Ebay.
Here's Karchers own statement from their warranty page: "Please also be aware that Kärcher products purchased through online auction sites such as eBay, as well as products purchased from non-authorized resellers, do not carry a Kärcher warranty." (if you have extra time, here is the full Karcher warranty .)
So, buyer beware! You may not get any warranty protection if you buy one on Ebay.
Here's My Top Recommendation for the Best Electric Pressure Washer:
I highly recommend the AR Blue Clean AR383 as the best electric pressure washer for any homeowner! Here's why I think it's the best electric unit:
It provides 1900 PSI which gives you very good cleaning power & speed - and it has an Annovi Reverberi Triplex 3 axial piston pump! As a pro, I know very well that the quality of your pump is critical for good cleaning results, consistent performance & long life. This Annovi Triplex pump is a much higher quality & longer lasting pump than you'll see on other electric washers. And you can read other customer reviews on Amazon.com.
And I know you'll really appreciate that this AR Blue Clean has a hose reel! Finally - you can get a hose reel on an electric unit! Trust me, the fact that you can neatly & quickly store your 20ft hose on the unit will help you work faster & more safely. And it's also easier to store. You can check this item at Amazons price.
