Should I choose an electric or gas model from the pressure washer comparison chart?

Because there are lots of pressure washer models on the market, I wanted to share my pro advice to help you choose between an electric or a gas power washer.

Advantages of Electric Pressure Washers: They’re economically priced, lightweight, are quieter than gas models, are easy to move around and they don't produce fumes.  And as long as you have an electrical outlet, they can be used anywhere you need to clean. Electric units can even be used indoors – in places like basements, sheds, garages, shops, etc. I also like to mention that electric pressure washers are small - so they take up much less storage space than a gas model.

They’re designed for light to medium duty cleaning jobs like washing your patio, deck, car, ATV or RV, cleaning windows, refreshing your outdoor furniture, etc.

You can see my  #1 top electric pressure washer recommendation: the AR Blue Clean 383 available on Amazon.  It has 1,900 PSI power, 1.5 GPM, a better quality pump, built-in hose reel and it's only 27 lbs! You can see Amazon's price on the AR Blue Clean AR383.

If you buy an electric washer, you can usually count on getting 200-300 working hours before it wears out.

There’s so much to like about electric pressure washers – and their economical prices – which you can check on my pressure washer comparison chart. But, you should also know that electric washers are built with lighter engines, pumps and parts. So they don't last as long as a gas unit. Since electric pumps are not repairable/replaceable, if your pump does wear out, you'll have to replace your entire electric pressure washer unit.

What are the advantages of a gas pressure washer from the pressure washer comparison chart?

Gas units are the right choice for serious homeowner cleaning projects & professional use. If you need to clean large areas, or tough projects that include mold, mildew, oil or grease stains or stripping paint, a gas unit is for you.

Gas power washers are built with higher-quality engines, pumps and parts. And they're designed to consistently perform for many years. Gas models have higher PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) power, which will give you deeper & faster cleaning. If you maintain them properly they can last for thousands of working hours. They’re cleaning monsters that are built for the long-haul.

You'll want to read about my top gas pressure washer recommendation: the Generac 6596 on Amazon. It has power, quality, speed & a competitive price. With it's 196cc Generac gas engine, whopping 2,800 PSI, 2.5 GPM and strong axial cam pump, it's my best gas pressure washer pick. Your can read more reviews & check Amazon's price on the Generac 6596.

And, if you finally wear out your gas washer pump, it's completely replaceable! You won't have to invest in a brand new gas pressure washer. Gas pressure washer pumps are incredibly easy to replace and you can buy a high-quality replacement pump for just a little more than $100.

Unfortunately, they are priced higher than electric units and they weigh more. They take more effort to Also, gas units are loud and they do omit fumes. So you can't use them indoors.

I hope my detailed pressure washer comparison chart makes choosing much easier for you!
