If you're not sure whether a gas or electric unit is the best choice for you, here are my tips to help you decide:

An electric power washer is good choice if you're looking for a quiet, economical & lightweight pressure washer for light to medium cleaning jobs like washing windows, cars, outdoor furniture, lawn furniture, etc. They're very popular with homeowners on a tight budget.

As long as you have an electrical outlet nearby, electric power washers are super easy to move around. And since they don't produce fumes, you can use them indoors! Unlike gas pressure washers. You can use an electric power washers in your shop, garage, basement, etc.

A gas power washer is a bigger investment. They're power houses. And they're heavier & louder than an electric washer. But a gas power washer can tackle cleaning projects that an electric washer just can't do: cleaning large areas, removing tough stains and oil, stripping paint, etc.  Pressure washing contractors only use gas units.

Just remember that gas pressure washers produce fumes so they can't  be used indoors!

Yes, you'll pay more for a gas power washer. But you'll get a unit with a stronger engine & pump. And gas units are built to last much longer. So they're a good investment for the long haul.

Ratings to Compare Units on Power Washers Reviews

As you shop around, you'll want to use the two standard power washer ratings to help you compare models:  PSI and GPM.

PSI means Pounds per Square Inch and it indicates the force or power of the pressurized water. The higher the PSI, the faster the cleaning.

GPM means the Gallons Per Minute. It's the rate of the water flow through the washer unit.

Keep these ratings in mind to accurately compare models.

And last, but not least, always be sure to compare the manufacturers warranty on any unit you're interested in. Make sure the manufacturer stands behind their product before you spend any of your hard-earned money!
