Ex Cell Pressure Washer Pump Review & Buying Tips

If you're looking for an Ex Cell pressure washer pump, my reviews and buying tips will help you locate the right  replacement pump you need - at the best price.

Most times, it's a much  better value to replace your gas pressure washer pump - rather than buy a whole new washer.  And you can check out my #1 top Ex Cell pressure washer replacement pump pick on Amazon.

The 2 Main Types of Ex Cell Pressure Washer Pumps

Ex Cell makes both axial cam pumps and triplex pumps for gas pressure washers.

Axial cam pumps are the most common type installed on Ex Cell units.  Axial cams are direct drive pumps and they spin at the same speed your engine. On average, axial cam pumps are designed to run around 600-700 hours before needing repairs/service. They are good & dependable pumps that are priced lower than triplex pumps.

Triplex pumps are higher quality pressure washer pumps - but expect a bigger price tag too. Ex Cell triplex pumps are greatly preferred by professionals because they're built to last longer than axial cam models. Triplex pumps provide more PSI ( Pounds per Square Inch) and GPM (Gallons per Minute).

Best Ex Cell Pressure Washer Pump Buying Tips:

Before You Buy a Ex Cell Replacement Pump:  make sure you match the existing model number or  specs of your old pump with your new pump.  You'll want to match up the PSI  (Pounds per Square Inch), GPM (Gallons per Minute) ratings - as well as the mount type:  horizontal versus vertical

Also, take a look at the bolt pattern on your existing pump and match it up with the bolt pattern on any replacement pump you're looking at.

And, always check to make sure you'll get a good warranty period. You should get a 1 to 2 year warranty on any replacement pump.

Here's my highly recommended Ex Cell replacement pump - and why I recommend it:

This high quality Ex Cell replacement pump kit has a full 2 year warranty - and it's a very good value! It's perfect for horizontal mounting with a 7/8" shaft.

It does have the brass thermal relief valve, which you'll want, because it protects the pump from overheating in the recirculating water.  It also has quick connect fittings for your garden hose and is suited for a gas pressure washer with a maximum 2,750 PSI and 2.5 RPM. Pump Maintenance

And don't forget that proper maintenance is critical for getting the most out of your pump - and protecting your investment!

Most Ex Cell gas pressure washer owners manuals state that you should check your pump oil level before you start the engine - each time. And it's important to change the oil every spring.

Never let your pressure washer run dry! Make sure your water source is running - and that your inlet filter screens are clean & free - so that your water will flow consistently through your pump.
