Honda GCV160 Pressure Washer Pump Specs

It's important to match up pump specs when you're shopping for a new Honda gc160 pressure washer pump.

Check Amazon's price on the Homelite Universal Pump.

Your new Honda GCV160 pressure washer pump GPM & PSI should be comparable to your old pump specs. If your new pressure washer pump for a Honda GC160 has lower GPM & PSI, you will not get the right amount of cleaning pressure coming out from your wand tip. And you’ll probably overwork, and possibly overheat, your engine. And if your new Honda GCV160 pressure washer pump has higher GPM & PSI than your old pump, you’ll be wasting money paying for cleaning power that you simply won’t get.

If you’ve got a Honda engine on your pressure washer, and your original axial cam pump is broken or wearing out, you’ll want to get a horizontal axial cam pump for your replacement. You’ll see Honda GC160 engines on Generac, Husky, Excell, Troy-Built, Karcher, Craftsman, Powerstroke and other quality power washer manufacturers.

And you can check Amazon's price on the Homelite Universal Axial Pump for Honda pressure washers.

And don’t forget, when you’re choosing a pump for your Honda pressure washer, it’s critically important to match up the PSI (Pounds per Square Inch) and GPM (Gallons per Minute) ratings of your original pump with your replacement pump. These ratings much match, in order for the new pressure washer pump to work with your Honda engine.

Quick Trouble Shooting Tips for a Pump on a Honda GC160 Pressure Washer

Just in case you’re not sure if you really need to replace your pump, or not, I wanted to share some quick troubleshooting tips to help you decide.

You’d be surprised, how many times, when I’m looking at a damaged pump – or non-performing pump – I discover that the problem was that it was drawing in dirty water. Or that the intake had blockages. Nine time out of ten, the problem was a dirty filter screen near the intake valve. It seems like a little thing, but over time, a dirty screen will burn up your pump.

Just get out an old tooth brush. It’ll gently and quickly clean out your screen – and get your water flowing through your pump.

If you pump is still running, but you see a drop in your water flow or pressure, always check your gun, o-rings, valve and hose. If one of these is leaking, you’ll have less water and less pressure. All of these parts are easy to replace and fairly cheap. And don’t forget to check for kinks in your garden and high pressure hose.

But, if your pump is running, but you have NO water coming out – STOP AND TURN OFF YOUR PRESSURE WASHER!  I guarantee that your pump will be permanently damaged or destroyed if you continue to run it while there’s no water flowing. So, shut off your Honda pressure washer quickly, when you have no water coming out of the spray gun.

I hope these Honda GC160 pressure washer pump replacement tips have helped you get your washer back up & running.
